Title: Stanley Park Security Building for the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club
Description: Timber frame building built on a pier; Stanley Park Waterfront, Vancouver
Preliminary design by Robert Turecki Architects, Detailed timber design by Castle Creek Contracting.
Owners Objectives: To replace a 30 year old, run down security building for this prestigious client, the Owner wanted a showpiece building fitting for this prominent location to receive members and guests at the gate of their 250 boat slip Stanley Park location. The new security building housed the security and admission office and surveillance and site communication equipment. The structure is completely Douglas Fir timber frame and steel connections with wood frame infill walls with corrugated metal cladding and roof.
